1998 - current - Bassist with Sophie Bancroft.

We've played at various festivals such as the Shetland Jazz Festival, Edinburgh First Night, and the Edinburgh Fringe and performed concerts at Edinburgh Queens Hall, the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen and the Bongo Club. The CDs 'Miles Away', Modern Love' and 'Hot and Cold' on LisaLeo Records were released between 1999 and 2005 and we have been pushing hard on the singer songwriter front. Sophie and I are involved in a lot of education projects and run our own record label. there is more info over at Sophie's website www.sophiebancroft.co.uk

1999 - current Bassist with Dave Milligan Trio.
We work as a trio and are often enlisted as backing band for visiting jazz artists such as Sam Newsome, Charlie Mariani, Bill McHenry and David Gordon (Sun Ra Band). The CD 'Late Show' was released in 2003 on Caber Music and has been well recieved. More details on the CD page.

2004 - current Bassist with Chick Lyall and Rob Hall.

These guys do a lot of work as a duo and on occasion when they use a band, I'll join them with Tom Bancroft on drums. It always turns out to be a highly innovative performance. The first gig I remeber playing with Chick Lyall must have been back in 1993 with Ian Copeland on drums.

2001 - current Bassist with Kevin Mackenzie's Vital Signs
The Observer 'CD of the Week' June 2004
"The day is surely coming when someone will write a thesis on why the Scots excel at jazz. There seems to be no end to the original, assertive and effortlessly engaging music being made north of the border at present. Mackenzie is a guitarist of impeccable jazz credentials who also plays Scottish traditional music. Vital Signs is the band in which he unites the two; the nine musicians include two fiddlers and a concertina player. The result is spirited, rich and surprisingly funky, with a powerful rhythmic undertow generated by the bass and drums of Tom Lyne and Tom Bancroft. In the slower pieces, fiddlers Aidan O'Rourke and Chris Stout are particularly effective, and a kind of subdued melancholy hovers around the edges of the music."

1998 - current freelance
Performing with musicians such as Brian Kellock, Dave Berkman, Tommy Smith, Fionna Duncan, Rob Hall, Chris Grieve, Chick Lyle, John Rae, Tom and Phil Bancroft, Kevin Mackenzie, and Simon Thoumire. More recently I have also become involved with some of the Scottish Music scene having performed with Alyth McCormack band at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Inverness Folk Festival and Catriona MacDonald at International Fiddle Festival in Harstad Norway. January 2006 I was invited to play bass at the Celtic Connections Scottish Men concert and The Arches in Glasgow. This was a voyage into the heart of scots and gaelic music and featured the singers John Morran, Arthur Cormack, Iain Mackay, Rod Paterson, James Graham, Findlay Napier, Dick Gaughan, Donnie Munro and Brian McNeill and a band which included Brian MacAlpine, Mike Travis, Tom Lyne and Fraser Fifield.

1991- 1997 Co-Bandleader of Men Without Heads (aka Granny Smith).
After traveling to Nice, France to help establish this band, we wrote, performed, toured, and recorded, living in Nice, Paris, Zurich, and Amsterdam where we finally settled. After the group disbanded in May 1993 the singer and I formed a new band, Granny Smith, and subsequently recorded a CD. We also started Elstar Management and Rennet Records to handle management, booking, promotion, and distribution of the Granny Smith CD.
